Jill Williams, an accomplished landscape watercolorist and workshop instructor, will be hosting a unique plein air painting event and workshop that promises to be a fun-filled fusion of painting, food, fine wine, and southern hospitality. Jill has partnered with Three Strands Vineyards & Winery, one of Georgia's newest and most beautiful wineries, located in Dallas, Georgia, to bring local plein air painters an authentic artisan experience.
Hey Friends,
Jill here, I'm personally inviting you to come out and join me at the beautifully maintained, Three Strands Vineyard in Dallas, GA, for a full day of painting and helpful instruction that will allow you to paint outdoors with more confidence and skill.
In addition to the workshop, you'll enjoy the rest of the day painting the lush vineyard views, experiencing homegrown local flavors of west Georgia, and of course, topping off with Three Strand’s handcrafted wine that's vinted and bottled on site.
What's Included in Jill's workshop:
Private plein air workshop from 9am-10:30am on site.  Then Jill will continue to provide full direction and support for workshop participants for the remainder of the event.

What's covered in the workshop:
  • Practice & technique demos
  • Establishing composition when working from life
  • How to pinpoint and work quickly with values
  • Strategy for simplifying subject matter
  • Maintaining loose brushwork and water control when working outdoors
  • Encouragement and community with other like minded artists
  • Having fun!

Lunch:
  • A hearty, sumptuous charcuterie board all to yourself, filled with delicious locally sourced ingredients that are sure to please, along with a glass of handcrafted Three Strands wine. Bottled water is available to attendees throughout the event till supply lasts.

Schedule of events:
  • Workshop check-in: 8:30am
  • Workshop: 9:00am-10:30am

Supplies:
  • Workshop participants may bring any watercolor supplies they wish, however I do recommend quality paper over pigment, if cost is a factor. The following items will be needed and I do have a link for my typical workshop supply list if you’re starting from scratch.
    • water container, towel, brushes, watercolor paper with tape & board, or watercolor block if preferred, watercolors, palette, spray bottle, pencil, and any other items that you prefer.
  • Optional Supply List if starting from scratch
  • Also check out my video for helpful advice on minimalistic plein air set up.
